Tuning BEST Fittings Theoben Rapid 7 Reg Tester - 03T1 RT01

Unfortunately yes. Different thread on the later Hm1000x, I don’t know why or what the thread is but the older theobens and RAW were 3/8 19bsp

Your other BM and TM regs should fit but you need to fit a fatter o ring to get them to seal as the best fittings tester has been Machined incorrectly (they get very upset when you tell them)

A simple solution is to fit a gauge to the bottom blanking plug of the block and test the reg in situ

Yeah Guys,

Didn't even think the regulator's would be different 😒. I guess no one makes a test gauge for the HM1000x regulator....

Measured the HM1000x regulator's threaded end = .75" or about 19mm.

However, I believe Bb has come up with the work around >> Again💥. I can buy another "Bottom Blanking Plug" from RAW ($19.50) and drill/tap it to match the "Best" test gauge's thread. The thread is pretty small - maybe 5/16" or so .... I don't see why it wouldn't work as it's testing the pressure in the plenum!

Must have changed over the years thought it used to be stainless but this should work too...

Yeah Odoyle,

Because the "new" AirForce RAW's have metal, accessory rails running underneath the entire fore-stock, I don't think I'll be looking to install a permanent manometer beneath the stock - would be kinda cool though. Ordered a Bottom Blanking Plug from RAW and will drill/tap it to the pipe threads of my older gauge.

I'm thinking there's little need to retest often once the set-point is chosen.

You a machinist correct? I would think you can buy a cheap brass or stainless steel oil drain plug locally and just thread it to screw in. Or maybe something from the hardware store drawers.

Maybe even something that threads right in to start...

Just so you know the RAW HM1000X supposed to already be set perfect from the factory. Are you trying to shoot much lighter pellets? The power adjuster isn't enough?

The 25.39gr JSB is supposed to be the lightest accurate pellet to shoot at around 900fps if you want to shoot 100 yards.

For Less power I would just buy a different gun such as the HM1000 40fpe max series instead and your reg tester probably work with that reg.

Maybe a standard Daystate 40fpe Pulsar or non HP Redwolf with the programmer for less power as well.

If I wanted less power I would go with the 22 caliber non HP anything as well since it sounds like you want less power. Maybe even a 177...

Like putting a 4 cylinder in a Lamborghini...

Bummer I have the old Theoben Rapid reg tester do I need to buy another one for my newer HM1000x guns? I have different generations of guns!!!

Well NOT the AIR FORCE version YET... All mine are pre Air Force... (SMIRK)...

Older RAW blocks including the HM100x all had 3/8 19 BSP, the new X block has something else? I don’t know what thread the new HM1000 has?

Huma on their web site sell replacement regs, they list two types, one for older guns, one for newer guns and the also have note of what version fits different serial numbers👍

That's a HUGE HOLE to cut in the bottom of the stock...jk...

😁😁😁

If you look at both my best fittings and block test rig, you will notice a 1/4”bsp Q/F fitting screwed into the reg, this has had the shut off piston removed, I can connect the reg to the dive bottle to test and bleed from there, saves faffing about screwing the buddy bottle on and off.
