I have that under stock male Foster QF on my Hot Rodded 55+fpe 22 Rapid and the bottle is gutted and permanent and fastflo opened up. Non regulated but very consistent fully shrouded with shortened barrel from breech end BTW...

Interesting but no plenum needed. Most of my Rapids aren't regulated believe it or not.

Plenum sounds like a good project though...

First for everything I guess. My oldest 25 RAW HM1000X sprung a leak and hadn't checked where yet. Just noticed zero air when taken out of its case. I have couple others not like it's my only gun to shoot...

Hey Guys,

Not a machinist, but a Financial Planner who loves to tinker in his spare time. Must be my German genetics steering me back metal and woodworking.

Purchased this RAW to be my "Big Bopper Gun", already own most (.177 & .20 caliber) Weihrauch Springers, BSA R10's, a few QB78/79 converted to HPA. With the RAW I want to shoot the 18.13 JSB, 25.39 JSB's and a few slugs out to 100+ yards.

I want to be able to change the set-point to find the optimal (1) pressure that can give me my above requirements. I don't care if the testing set-up is clumsy ... likely not going to be doing this more than a few time and want to error on the side of cheap.

Bb, already have the same large gauge set-up (used for my QB's) and just going to tap this into the RAW Button Plug and test reg pressures with the stock off. I have an extra probus and Button Plug being sent. If I had a full stock, would definitely go with permanent manometer inset.

If it were me and (well not like me actually) I would run an additional external adjustable reg inline with the bottle and max the OEM reg to shoot slugs and use the adjustable one up front to tune between the 2 weights of pellets. Do it in a way the hammer spring never needs adjusting to maintain repeatability going back and fourth.

I use one gun set to optimum accuracy for only one pellet and never touch it again once shooting perfect.

I have couple 25 caliber RAW 1000X all set for different ammo.

Just like my Impacts one 22 shoot only one type of pellet and another 22 only one slug type and weight. Nothing ever adjusted once set perfect. A 25 specifically for JSB Kings and the other dunno yet haven't shot yet probably try slugs but have to buy the Corbin dies first.

Be advised BSP and NPT are different even though it may thread in for sure leak and dangerous when high pressure air is involved. Buy the correct one.

Turned out my large pressure gauge was threaded to 1/4" NPT in the first place, so didn't need to venture to HD. In hindsight, you're right, because when I threaded the gauge into the receiver w/pipe tape it leaked ever so slightly. The bottle was at about 150/160 bar, so could have been worse (Oops).

Anyway, turned the regulator hex screw at least 2 complete CCW revolutions before it was at 1700 PSI or about 117 bar. It took about 4 trials to get it down from it's 2000+ PSI set-point. The regulator must have still been at around 150/160 bar .... it was reading off the scale of my (2000 max) gauge?

So at 117 bar and Low Powered SSG inserted, I was able to shoot 18.13 grain JSB's between 927/959 fps with the RVA fully retracted / fully turned inward. JSB 25.39 shot at a more dynamic range of 795/847 fps with the same SSg with RVA fully out/in.



So taking a break .... pretty darn happy with the 117 bar set-point.

Must have changed over the years thought it used to be stainless but this should work too...

ISSUE there... it is fine as a way to check PLENUM pressure on a REGULATED gun ..... YOU CAN NOT FILL A REGULATED GUN VIA THIS MIENS !!!

You are DOWNSTREAM of the regulator and are NOT able to fill tank if guns regulated. Free flow equipped ( Non Reg ) no problem.

Something doesn’t seem quite right here. To adjust the reg down from 160bar to 117bar should only take about 1/2 turn on the reg nut, are you sure you didn’t adjust reg end float accidentally while adjusting the reg nut?

Oh no I used the example to suggest installing a manometer there for reg pressure status at a glance after drilling the bottom of the stock.

Those blanking plug fill adapters are probably for old Theoben Rapids that aren't regulated.

I have a 22 cal 55fpe Hot Rodded unregulated Rapid MK2 with the open flow inlet so the bottle can't be removed under pressure and doesn't have the AZ fill at the end of the bottle.

I would start from scratch if I were you, 

Remove the reg nut, the flat washer and all the belville washers.

push the core in as far as it goes and measure total length from the front of the reg to the back of the core, note the dimensions.

Pull the core back as far as it will go and measure again, the total travel of the core should be between 0.3- 0.5mm.

Use the brass locking nut to make adjustments.

Rebuild the stack of belville washers so it looks like this (())(())(())(([]nut

then make fine adjustment on the reg nut 1/6 turn at a time until you set pressure

Got the gun together today, with the set-point reduced to 1750 PSI, also added a belleville washer (rec'd today) between the two pellet probes for a more consistent lock-up.

Now getting 922 fps using 18.13 gr. JSB's with the SSG's RVA all the way backed out. I will shoot a string tomorrow showing the going from 200 to 150 bar. This should give me an reasonable estimate of the tunes efficiency, even though a string from 230 to 100 bar would be preferred. I just don't want to waste 168 - 200 pellets ... or about $8.00 worth of ammo.

* Yesterday, I had turned the regulator (hex nut) core 2 complete turns CCW while holding the End-Nut with an open-end wrench. This likely maxed out the regulator, the reason my (set-point) gauge kept giving me descending reading ... was because my bottle was being emptied - the gauge was just reading the bottle as it dropped😵. 

Live and Learn 🙈 ... but I'm excited about the prospects of outstanding efficiency👍.

Glad you got there in the end.👍 if you notice in the photo I posted you will see a 1/4 bsp q/f screwed into the front of the reg. this has had the shut off valve removed. I am able to set reg pressure and test power using the whip charging hose rather than the buddy bottle. This makes setting the reg much easier with minimal air wastage.

Hey Guys,

Shot a string with the HM1000xLRT tonight at my 120 bar set-point.

Specs:

- Tank 480cc

- Pellets 18.13 JSB

- Air Usage 200 bar to 150 bar

- Shots 72

- Ave Velocity 933 FPS

Efficiency 1.73😎

It was hard to tell if my pressure gauge started slightly over 200 bar.If we take off the last clip: E = 1.44 with 60 shots😃.

My Extreme Spread ranged from 920 to 946 or 26fps = 3%.

I would like to work on is reducing the ES? I think the best way is sorting pellets or refine my SSG so it's more consistent💫?
