Best Fitting - 1 L buddy bottle

Yesterday I got my 1 L buddy bottle from Best Fitting. I got the bottle for some easy field use, i.e. if I go to the range with the Brocock Compatto / Taipan Compact or to a HFT event. Thus with the 1L tank, I should be able to get some decent # of shots in without the weight of my 7 L tank, more bulk than anything.

Also, I can fill the buddy bottle from my 7 L tank, so I made this foster fitting quick connect “coupler” to attach the buddy bottle of the tank. Overall length of the 1L buddy bottle is 18 inches and thus can easily fit into a 30 L backpack I have with my coming Leshiy 2.

It took only 3 days to get the bottle from the day I ordered it.

(note: looking at the photo I can see I am a little “short” on the actual length of the bottle, but 18 to 19 inches is accurate.)

So here are some photos below of the setup:

Easy, the foster fitting coupler I made using the Forster fitting “quick connect” link you would on your probe. It was like $5 in parts from best fitting.

So I connect the tanks’ hoses together to each other, 7 L to 1 L. And the pressure in the large tank then fills the smaller tank. Kind of Redneck, but seems to work. In between foster fittings is a male coupler / union. I figure for a hunting / HFT combination sub-12 ft./lbs my Brocock gets 3 to 4 fills which translate into a tin of pellets almost.

When I go to USA for hunting take the buddy bottle with for in the field hunts with the Taipan / Leshiy 2. I figure for the buddy bottle can give each gun 2 to 4 fills which translates into a 100-150 shots. If I need more than that number of shots for hunting, it is definitely time to head home, because I suck because evidently, I can’t hit the broadside of a barn with high performance rifles. Same applies for HFT with the Brocock.

The buddy bottles weighs 4 pounds / 1.8 kg so easily packable for me in my 30 L Patagonia backpack. The bottle is £200 plus parts. Some people on AGN I have seen here use the same bottle.

Hey Blackpaw, I have the same idea, but with a two liter. (SHFT not just one hunt).

The reason for my comment is that I wonder if you might save enough weight to make it worthwhile to do the ninja ez valve? At least in pictures it seems slimmer and smaller than other valves.

Ebay has them often, about 50% less than retail. But if your new setup is metric, sorry for bothering you.
