Best Country with Pro Airgun Laws for ExPats

Pretty much like the what state to retire thread - wondering what countries have the best laws concerning PCP's for expats?

I've given up on looking for a country to move to where expats can own firearms, so I just travel in 2-4 week stints so I don't really get the itch to shoot that much. I'm going to start doing 3mo+ trips and at that point I know I'm going to want to do some shooting. You can only be in the gym and the bars for so long.

If anyone's got any info love to hear it!

Not Canada, although we're not awful. A lot of air rifles are illegal here. Most bullpup style rifles. A lot of the pistol-style airguns have to be under 500fps or they become prohibited weapons. Arcane and difficult to understand laws is what we're about. I don't think they're purposefully designed to trip people up and accidentally turn diligent citizens into criminals, but it's pretty easy to get that impression.

I don’t live there but it seems that bad too me. All out handgun ban and let’s not even talk about Covid restrictions.

A country ruled by Castro's son, no thanks.

I travelled the World and definitely I don't want to retire just anywhere in North America.
I moved last about twenty years ago, ten minutes to my archery range. Now is time to retire (just waiting for wife to do the same) and I am gone.
Probably Southern EU? Somewhere countryside in Portugal, Spain comes to mind first, learning a new language could be fun 2.

Czech Republic is arguably the most gun-freedom country outside the US. I imagine airguns are OK there.

If you are OK with sub-12fpe and don't care about PB's then the UK is far far better for airguns than even Canada.

I won't do sub-100fpe, shoot from a bench rest or non semi-auto... so UK's definitely been out for a while lol.

Been all over, never even crossed my mind to visit the Czech rep... might have to look into that thanks!

To my best knowledge Czech Republic is also the only non-US country that has a "shall-issue" pistol permit scheme similar to many US states. I reckon the UK ain't for you...

That thing about sub-12fpe, something religious or you can still apply for a gun license?
In Canada you must take a course+test to get a firearms PAL license (anything that shoots over 500 fps), or RPAL for handguns anything shorter then 8" barrel. And still a firearms officer can decide based on background check.

lol like am I a felon? No. I just like to hear my steel ring.

In the UK 12 fpe for a rifle and 6 fpe for a pistol is the power limit without requiring a firearm certificate. With a FAC you can own airguns of any power over 12fpe (NOT pistols over 6fpe). It's MUCH harder in the UK to get a FAC than a PAL or even an RPAL in Canada.
