Best compressor under $400?

While I do agree the YH is probably the best sub-$400 compressor, keep your tools handy. So far I've replaced the piston, multiple dowdy seals, bits and bobs here and there. It's an amazing device considering it puts out up to 4500 PSI, but it needs maintenance. Just be ready to swing a wrench from time to time and you'll be good. Had mine for 3 years now, very happy with it, gives me complete freedom to shoot whenever I want to without worrying about air.

Seems to be much like the past failure bit-unpredictable. Mine has similar time of use and I've had to do very little to it (a failed gauge twice, no seal failures at all). What they may possibly need is usually pretty simple and can probably be done by most who can do basic mechanical work.
