N/A best caliber for a hw50s

I have one in .177 and .22 and both are great but I prefer the .177 cal. Never tried a .20 cal 50S but I bet its pretty darn good too

177. The only rifle I've sold was a 22 HW50. But the guy who bought it, loves it and is selling his 177 and 20 professionally tuned 50s. It really depends on your useage. More info would help.

When I saw this thread I knew the .20 voice would speak. 
I don't disagree.
However, my .22 hits like a hammer and is dead on.

I own a .20 I put an ARH kit in and it is very nice. That said I've not had the pleasure of shooting the flatter shooting .177. Ron I need to try your .177 to see what I'm missing.lol

2-.177’s, .20 and .22. They’re all spectacular. The .20 is my newest and quickly becoming my favorite. Crow

next show (Hickory ) i have HW50 on my list but .177 or .22 as i have lots of those pellets and don't feel like chasing another cal.

I have owned all 3 calibers, you can't go wrong with any of the 3.
But my Bayman tuned .22 is the one I kept.

It's the one I'd keep if I could only have one. It does everything well. Luckily I can have more than one. My Hw30s are my favorite overall. That's because they're the most fun and easiest to use.Upvote 0
For a can crusher it is really hard to beat a .22 HW50S. Same trajectory as a HW30S but it hits like a freight train.

Not really, most 177 Hw30s preferred pellet is a 7.33 JSB. Usually about 700 FPS.
22 HW50s typically like FTTs best and they go about 600 FPS. That 100 FPS is a big difference in trajectory.
I sold my 22 HW50 because I had a hard time hitting spinners past 35 yards that I could easily hit at 50 yards with my 177 HW30. Both guns had the same front sight and rear peep sights. The difference was getting the hold over right. Some people are better at it than others.
If you shoot paper at the same distance all the time, it's a non issue. You adjust your zero. If you shoot targets at random distances the flatter 177 is easier to get right.

Not long ago I ordered HW50S in .20 caliber from AoA and love how well it shoots and looks nice as well. Charles
I've had a .177cal and a .22cal. I liked them both a lot. If I got another one, it would probably depend on the mood I was in that day, because they both tuned out really well.
