best 25 cal hunting rifle on a budget

Hello,

If you order through crosman you can get a discount with NATION20 and free shipping on Fridays. Not sure if they have Marauders in stock.

I think the Airforce ss models have hunting power and might be quiet enough. They also have packages around 1k that have a scope and a pump. The Walther Reign might work for you too if you don't mind the moderator being permanent.

Will not need the moderator with the cricket, mine is currently tuned for 50-55 fpe (depending on ammo weight), and aside from the impact on the other end it is very quiet. Better gun than all the ones listed and mine is accurate with all kinds of ammo. I've taken woodchucks reliably with mine out to 85 yards and one poor sucker that got caught with a 34gr pellet to the back of the neck from ~150 yards on a lets let one fly and see where it hits....lol.

Be sure to get many seller references that you can verify. Be wary paying money to new created member accounts without meaningful posts contributed to this forum.

$800 for a 25 Cricket is a steal. I'd question it and definitely buy it if nothing's wrong with it and owner had it for a while and its not stolen or a scam. It's like half the price of a new one.

Air Venturi Avenger in .25 caliber is $300 and way underpriced for it's features and accuracy.

Regulated, air gauge, regulator gauge, biathlon lever cocking, two magazines, single shot tray, very accurate, 4500 psi, large shot count.

This gun has a plastic stock, but it works just fine and feels "right" for the gun. This would be a great starter gun and acquaint you with a lot of the features on guns costing four times as much. It will need a moderator for back yard use. Do a search on this forum. There has been several posts regarding this gun.

thank you all.

the air venturi looks like a great option.

i am getting a benjamin marauder for sure.

i don’t like the feel of a bull pup and i’m new and i’m not comfortable tinkering so the crickets don’t seem right.

i am interested in:

hatsanbt6558 elite qe 25 cal

52 fpe out of the box - would this be more powerful than the marauder ? more accurate ? what about noise ? can i get it down to a low level with a sumo or whatever is necessary?

same question with the neutron star ?

same question with the hatsan big bore carnivore - can i get it’s noise level down ..?

my concern with hatsans is their mechanics aren’t as good as a benjamin i think and i won’t be able to handle the adjustments necessary where as a marauder seems robust and has a great warranty and customer support. i am getting the marauder for sure i’m looking for a second gun

im also considering the condor ss

again thanks all for your support

Hatsan BT65 is powerful but a long and heavy gun. Its air economy is poor. Depends on what you are looking for. This Hatsan has merit but strikes me as a gun that has been overtaken by several newer generation shooters. You may want to watch the Gregor Kamensek video + comments before pressing the button on that one.

I recommend Kral Puncher Maxi for hunting without reservation. Low-cost, nice to carry and shoulder, and incredibly accurate at 60m. Great trigger, smooth side lever cocking, low action noise. Well functioning mags. Unregulated thus simple. I opened up the ports to 4.5mm and it is doing an easy 55j, plenty for hunting small game. Accuracy matters more than untrammeled power unless you are in the demolition business.

The only problem I can see is the price: it is shockingly low. Fortunately the pigeons and parrots do not seem to mind that particular aspect. 🐦
