Best .22 or .25 500-600$ Reliable and Accurate Budget PCP

Hi all, still stuck on what .22 or .25 airgun to get. I originally was thinking about a flashpup or Kral PB, but wasn’t completely sold on those two yet. I wanted to also look at other air guns that weren’t bullpups. I have seen some, like the Gamo coyote, BSA Buccaneer, Marauder, etc. but all of those are quite heavy. I would like to get a lightweight gun with side lever cocking, and a long barrel (preferably unchoked for slugs if any gun in this price range can shoot slugs accurately). But I have had little luck on truly finding a gun that I would be satisfied with. So if any of you guys have any suggestions, please put them down below and give details about why their better than their competitors, and why they are worth the money.

so, here’s what I’m looking for:

Lightweight,

Side lever cocking if possible,

Long barrel, preferably unchoked for slugs if any gun in this price range can shoot them accurately,

accurate enough to deal with pests out to 50-75yds,

Most probably are not in this price range, but being regulated would also be very nice.

I know that is a lot of criteria, but It would be awesome if there is a reliable, accurate pcp that I can beat up for years and years to come. Sorry if it seems I’m super picky.

Thanks, PlinkForFun

Buy Mickey Webster's Will Platt tuned 22 Sumatra it's an underlever fast followup shots for $500 if he hasn't already sold it. I have couple of them shoots slugs very good and are 100 yard capable even with heavy pellets like the 21gr Barracuda and Seneca dome 28gr. Buy a good big fat long LDC if you need it quiet. Mickey's a trusted seller. He has it listed on AA classifieds. If you don't like it I will even buy it from you. None of my Sumatras had Will Piatts magic touch done to any of them. Power is easy to adjust with a finger adjustable dial in front of the trigger. You can plink at 350fps in doors if you like or dial it up to 1000+fps. Those guns are naturally accurate shooters that I would highly recommend to anyone who is into accuracy and power. Yo!

Never had a single issue with any of my Sumatras and the oldest one I have is more than 10 years old. I like to dial down the power for one of my 22s and shoot cheap Wal-Mart Crosman Premier Hollowpoints out to 80 yards with decent plinking accuracy with those cheapie pellets. Good news is that the Sumatras aren't pellet picky guns in 22 caliber and shoots just about any pellet accurately since you can easily adjust the power any time to match whatever pellet you want to shoot to manually tune it for best accuracy. The power dial has clicks you can keep count so you know what power setting you're at. Yo!

I browsed around for quite awhile just looking at all of the guns available these days and there are plenty. Came across this Walther Reign and it clicks most of your boxes. It is lightweight, has a long barrel, side-lever and is regulated. A couple more pluses it is fairly powerful and German made unit as well. Comes in .22 and .25 and has a moderator so should be fairly quiet. I really can't say much more about it as I don't have one personally and it has no reviews as yet.

This looks like a gun to keep an eye on. Not many modern airguns are so accommodating for southpaw shooters - they would get bonus points if the crossbolt safety is reversible. I'm not a big fan of plastic stocks, but the one I had on the Walther Terrus was pretty well made. And it does keep the weight down, which is handy for a field gun. The reg will retard any ping so it doesn't resonate in the stock.

PA shows August delivery on the bottom of their web page. We'll see what reality brings....

I had my eyes on the reign but yes it was just released this year at the show so it will be some time before people get their hands on them but maybe with this pandemic they are ironing out all the kinks. Its not the lightest but balances very very well and my current setup is the kral knight and as a bonus to can buy the barrel kit and get whichever caliber you didn't decide on. Now for some others I would look at the puncher silent, hatsan flashpup, hatsan flash, Marauder in .22 not hearing the best feedback from the .25 after they started making the .25 barrels, ati nova liberty .22, Air Venturi Avenger coming out soon, Hatsan Hydra QE just released this year but some reviewers got their hands on them like shooter1721. Now you can go used and keep an eye out in the classifieds I recently just went through this all for myself and a buddy feel free to message me and I will help as best as I can. Stay safe
