Best 150 yard rifle?? Your opinions

Hey everyone from sunny P.R. just curious if anyone knows any really accurate 150 yard pcp rifles (can shoot bullets or cast doesn't matter) for hunting. I DO NOT need extreme FPE as what I am trying to do is buck the wind (15-25mph ). Being that down here I have owned almost every rifle in the daystate, fx, and AA lineup including a RAW amd currently, and fx boss. Rifle will be for hunting iguanas. Any help would be really appreciated.

Seems like you have tried most brands. I saw Edgun West reviewing the Edgun R3 25 cal and he was hitting eggs at 200 yards. On his review of the 30 cal Edgun he was hitting cans at 200 yards pretty consistently. I can hit cans at 150 yards pretty routinely with my Hatsan Hercules 30 cal but I wouldn't think you would want to lug that monster around.

Well depending on what you are hunting a custom .257 would be my top choice it will cut you wind drift down enormously,
second would be a daystate in either .22 or .25 shoot Nick at Nielsen's ammo swaged slugs, he and others have had excellent results with daystate barrels
and his slugs offer excellent accuracy and a much higher BC than pellets, while also packing a bigger punch on game.
While still being able to have decent shot count vs the .257 as well as easier to shoot, you get up to big bores and there can be a learning curve in shooting them.

A recent video posted showing the Slayer stretching it out was very impressive. If funds were not an issue it's looks like the champ. I remember Michael making a vid of his then Kalibr .35 . If I'm not mistaken a 30 yd zero, he had a 20" drop to 75 yds. That works out to a 1" drop every 2 yds Check the power on the Raw. The Benji Bulldog might be a choice I've seen vids where they use the Airbow regulator. That .257 with those nothing under a 100 vid does look very impressive.

As for something that's off the shelf, nothing comes to mind. 150 yards is exponentially harder than 100 yards. If you want to cheat the wind, you must shorten the TOF (go FAST) and raise the BC. Those are easy, but the accuracy still needs to be there!

Tofaz's .257 condor is the best long range AG I've ever seen, but I'm sure getting there was a true labor of love for him with barrels, tuning and god knows how many projectiles he tested.

Any of the better, high powered *pellet* guns that are exceptional 100 yard shooters would work OK, but it'd still be sketchy at best if you're shooting in conditions that aren't dead calm and you're aiming at live game.

As a side, this thread has me imagining what I believe would be the ultimate 150+ yard, air powered shooter, but sadly, it doesn't exist. Yet..haha

ST barrels may or may not shoot slugs well, but worth a try. In any event, most slugs are heavier and generate more friction, thereby requiring more power to obtain velocities typical to create stability and accuracy. As with what BlackDiesel mentioned, folks are coming out with slugs made for AG pellet shooters. Im more and more drawn to this, if for no other reason than options, not to mention reltaive efficiency in more standard AGs. My RS2 .30 with stock spring could shoot NSA slugs to 850fps, though would like to get to 900fps and will do so with heavier hammer spring I hope. Johninthecamper, MyHollowpoint amd soon Aeromagnum will have slugs in typical AG cals. Nielsen and Aeromagnum and designing for even choked barrels and of moderate weight, eg 50-60gr .30 vs 115gr+ in my .308. If looking for a new rig, American Air Arms Evol is a pellet shooter, however power to shoot new slug designs.
