I bet your heart was pounding when you were about to release shot number five.
SO true! I've experienced that many times with my powder burners. This was a 300 yard group!

Congrats to the OP. Nice shootin'! Actually amazing with an air rifle at 100 yards!

I bet your heart was pounding when you were about to release shot number five.😁 That is an awesome group and one to be very proud of. I would frame that sucker if I were you. I also own a Panthera .22 600mm. There seems to be a little extra magic in that particular combination.

HAHA yes I took my time with the last shot .

As my friend, Ross often says, "That's the target that you shot, that day!".

I recall an annoying crow aroud the family cottage, 50 years ago. I was just walking outside with my Lee Metford Artillery carbine, when the crow landed in the top of a tree, 200 yards up the mountain. I snap shot and hit it right above the eye.

The barrel was so bad on that rifle that it wouldn't group in a 4'x8' sheet of plywood at 50 yards.

Great group, but is that a reliable indication of how that gun shoots?

My groups are more reliably bad. ;)

Just teasing, of course.

Yeah, It's the fifth shot that always gets blown out so I've developed a method that works for me.

Instead of shooting: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

I shoot: 1+1 +1 +1 +1 😆

I'm only sorta kidding. I make a point shooting one shot at a time, separating them into individual events. I take a few seconds break, sit up, take a couple of breaths, and look around (for deer in the shooting lane!) before settling down for the next shot.

Mentally, this keeps me fresh. The pervious shot is history and out of mind; the next shot is in the future so nothing to think about; which leaves me to concentrate all my attention on this shot. I make a point of ignoring anything and everything except my aim point.

I've found that looking at the beautiful group instead of the aim point if just asking for a flier. 😉

Works for me!

Cheers!
