Berryville Bunny

This poor little fellow got under the lawn mower. Wifey was beside herself. Bunny was very lucky. He lost half an ear, his left front leg at the shoulder, and took a scrape out of his back. Derby the Dog has already decided this bunny is part of the pack, so no eating this one. We are going to call him stumpy.

He was jumping and hopping and ready to go eat grass and be a bunny by this morning. Small critters with short lives heal fast. So stump has gone ... wifey put him in the yard against my protests. I told her Derby had not had time to learn to know him. That did not phase her. I told her I probably would not recognize him and be able to differentiate him from the rest in tall grass (the one ear might help though). I guess she just wanted to keep him around.

So yesh, YO! he may become hasenpfeffer. I won't feel good about killing him, if I do, but I won't feel bad about eating him and I suspect I will get my wife's share.

That's kinda dark, ain't it?
