Looking for a cheap semi auto, using it for a 50-60 foot rat gun. does anyone have experience with this? Can the front ramp sight be removed? Specs state 800 fps? Standard 7/16" barrel? Shots? Accuracy minute of rat head? LDC something like a TKO? Your thoughts thanks

I have the C02 version. I use it for shooting mice/rats inside. I've shot starlings and pigeons at about 50-60ft. The front sight does come off, but it supports the barrel. There was a guy making a derling replacement for the 1077. The idea was it would hold the barrel in the same place as it floats inside that I guess you call it a shroud..... If you take off the sight you need to replace it with something. I just ran some electrical tape around the barrel to take up the slack, but you need to take the gun apart.
I use mine inside basements and shops/Barnes to catch them little jerks on the run.

i think if Crosman used some metal, and the Maximus barrel with a good action like the old 600's It would corner the ratting market I'd be first in line

Oh I agree. Why can't they make the recover out of metal. I've always wanted to take a sand molding class just to make that. A better barrel would kick ass
