Benjamin titan tune

Hey guys. Im resealing my dads benjamin titan gas piston rifle. I have torn down the gun and used denatured alcohol to clean and degrease everything. I would like to know from guys who have tuned the crosmans if i should polish the piston and sleeve or leave it with its factory bluing and also how much moly should I use on and around the piston and seal. Ty guys

You mean compression tube/sleeve? Ideally a Sunnen crosshatch is done and very little moly is needed as it sits in microscopic x’s made by hone.

I’ve only switched one gas ram but polishing can’t hurt & just enough in tube so it won’t be gummed, effected by cold temps getting firmer.

pm me for John Thomas’s # as he’s happy to give advice as much as if you were paying him to tune himself.

Beeman Laser guns even have Chromed internal friction bearing parts.

I am pretty sure I can cross hatch it. A member I trust advised me to use brake hone stones from auto store spinning slowly and raising up and down as quickly as possible while still maintaining smooth operation of the drill. Then pull out completely without stopping. Ive watched vids of people honing the hw97 with sandpaper and dowels to a mirror finnish but this cheap titan had blued parts instead of stainless steel and i wasn't sure the crosshatch or polishing was smart or not. Thanks for your help btw.
