Benjamin NP2 or NP XL

Looking for something to punch paper in my back yard. I will probably never shoot anything alive. I have about 75 yards to work with. I have neighbors, so I need to be quiet. I used to have a gamo springer, and I was pretty good with it out to around 35 yards (my old yard).

Im torn between getting a NP2 in .177 which is probably enough, or getting an XL. Would the XL be too much? I also see that most people get a xl in .22. I wont be hunting, so is the xl in .177 viable or just too difficult to keep subsonic?

Any other options in that price range for a quiet target shooter?

I have this break barrel. Out of all mine this is definitely the quietest. The sound of the pellet hitting your target is louder than the rifle. Everyone will tell you to buy a German or English rifle but there are many others that are very accurate and well made. Mine is very accurate at 50 yards and super quiet. The muzzle being a true baffled silencer.

Wow. I am extremely glad to hear that. Today I was pouring through some YouTube videos on squirrel hunting and a couple of them had the NP2 trail. You won’t find the videos looking for the gun though. And they had the same same experience I did. Missed everything lol. One guy was like “it’s common for most hunters to miss their first 8 shots actually” lol. You could even tune DOWN your new gun for FT regs on FPE and probably even increase accuracy more. With guns in this range accuracy is everything. They say the only interesting gun in an inaccurate one but you can still experiment with dozens of pellets.
