Benjamin Benjamin MROD quit firing

Benjamin Marauder.22 Gen 2. Purchased new 4/5/16. Added Archer Airguns Tune Kit for Benjamin Marauder Air Rifles in 2022. No other modifications. Pest control PCP that has been cleaned & maintained.

The gun has shot fine for years until this afternoon. Fully charged to 3000 PSI per the gun gage and liquid filled gage on my Air Venturi 98 cf tank. Low pitch pfffft after trigger pull. Knew that wasn't right. Got the pellet out of the barrel, cleaned everything, lubed the barrel/bolt O ring. Next shot same thing. Pellet only went a half inch in the barrel. I've never taken this gun apart any further than removing the barrel shroud and cleaning the barrel, baffles, and shroud tube. Only pure silicon lube on the O rings.

I have a rebuild kit with all the O rings but don't want to do all that if you guys have a simple solution to correct this. Thank you in advance. Mike

Hammer may be gummed up ?
Valve poppet might have broke having the stem breaking off the back side & sliding up on said stem ... No stem protrusion at valve face = minimal if any air release. ( Generally this type failure will slowing leak all the air out. ?

ONLY WAY to correct and figure it out is going threw it to find the issue. Experience in understanding the operational parts & pieces is somewhat key here ..... get some help to teach you what your looking at and looking for ... Or send it out for servicing.

JMO

is it a nylon hammer ? those can get real sticky when silicone gets on the hammer , aluminum get a little sticky as well , the cast original hammer is less likely to get that sticky as to not move the pellett out the barrel , that would be more of an erratic shot string , or its what motorhead said or an obstruction of some sort in the hammer area

I've had the MROD since 2016 and run about 2.5 tins (500 count) of JSBs each year thru it. 1st issue with the gun in 9 years of continuous use. No complaints.
Absolutely, It’s mostly common with guns of age as they’re usually the longest running factory PCP’s out there. Or someone has done something to the gun they shouldn’t have. Based on the % that runs through here or Benjamin. Right now I’m seeing an uptick in 2017-19 models which is par for the course and should be serviced anyway if they haven’t been. Just age, overmold deterioration and usage.
