I received the new maximus today. Came double boxed this time. I cleaned the barrel and wiped everything down, it was filthy. Mainly just dust from the box. The sights were rubbing against the inside of the box during shipping and just made a fine powder of cardboard on everything. The trigger feels horrible. That will be the first thing I change. I dry fired it just to see what it sounds like. It was much louder than the marauder, but not crazy loud. I'll add a LDC. Hopefully I got one with the barrel seated correctly and with rifling in the barrel. I'll try it out this weekend.

Ok, question. How do I remove the rifle from the stock? I took out the main screw on the bottom, but the trigger guard or safety seem to be in the way.

Mine was leaking from the fill nipple when I got it. So you might want to check that. My aftermarket parts haven't come in yet, so I haven't yet bothered to take it apart.

I found a good YouTube video showing how to take it apart and install the new trigger. I'll post a link later.

The safety has to be removed to remove the stock. A small metal pick or small flat blade screwdriver helps when replacing the safety.

I'm enjoying the new Maximus. I mounted a Vortex Crossfire II 6-24x50 scope and sighted it in today. Even with the crappy factory trigger I placed 4 pellets in the same hole at 25 yrds. I can't wait to install the new trigger. I'm impressed with this $165 PCP.
