Benjamin Marauder question

I'm looking at the Benjamin Marauder Field & Target .22 and I'm getting conflicting specs from a few different dealers regarding the scope mount rail. It seems everyone is out of stock on this rifle and I've got one shop telling me the rail on the Crosman barrel version is a dovetail and only the Lothar Walther barrel version comes with the Weaver/Picatinny rail and another shop saying both version have the Weaver/Picatinny rail. A few web sites I've looked at all have the Picatinny rail in the description and photos. I have seen a Youtube video of a test firing with the Crosman barrel and it does have a dovetail rail. I would rather have the Picatinny rail system and the Info I'm being given is very confusing. Can anyone confirm if both versions have the same rail? Thanks for any help.

Crosman is well known to have 1st, 2nd, 3rd variants.
There's a lot of Crosman Dealers. Find one with the rail, barrel, & stock you like.

Now, my personal POV is a Crosman Marauder is an absolute excellent airgun. For pellets or other projectiles. The Marauders platform is a great affordable design with a good trigger.
I'm telling ya. Out of 10+ Marauders I have loved everyone of them. No it isn't a rock solid Rapid/RAW, or a lightweight FX, a programmable Daystate.
What it is, is affordable and accurate. It's fun, it's got the absolute best customer support.
It would be hard to go wrong with one.

Have the seller physically check the gun prior to shipping so you know for sure.

My 177 LW F&T Marauder has Picatinny while my 22 F&T with Crosman barrel has 11mm dovetails.

Here is my 22... Bought it from Rick Rehm Shooter1721 himself. REALLY Nice guy!

That's the exact Youtube video I was talking about in my OP that shows the dovetail rail!

Thanks for all the replies. What's everyone's opinion as far as the regulated or non-regulated version of the Marauder? I do mostly target shooting but I do like to occasionally go small game hunting. Is the FPS decrease with the regulated version still enough to hunt squirrels and slightly larger game? If so, what's the max effective range? Also are the newer Crosman barrels accurate enough or is it worth the wait for the Lothar Walther barrel versions to be available. Most places are saying a rough date is November 4th but they say it could be more like the beginning of next year, no guarantees.

I recently read on another forum where a poster was getting 23ish fpe on his 22 factory regulated Marauder, which should be ample for most small game such as rabbit and smaller. That same person was having some accuracy problems, possibly due to velocity drops. I own a gen 2 Mrod non-regulated in 22 with a Crosman barrel and am happy with the accuracy. If I was to do it over though I think I would still get a non-regulated Mrod but would go for the LW barrel and the picatinny scope rail as it is only about an $75 difference over what I paid. To be honest I have my doubts if the LW barrel is any more accurate than the newer Crosmans. If Crosman gets the 22 LW non regulated in stock again you can pick one up for $480 with the AGNATION discount and free shipping if you order on Fridays. They do have the .177 LW version in stock now.

Motorhead, one of the expert Marauder airgun smiths on this board always advises to avoid the Crosman regulator, and get their non-regulated veraion and later add an aftermarket regulator such as a huma if you still see the need. I am happy with my non regulated version, I have it cranked down to just under 20 fpe for field target matches and get about 25 shots within 1% of my highest velocity.

I no longer shoot my regulated and non regulated Marauders and prefer Kral unregulated but that's just me first shot always perfect and a lot of shots per fill no regulator necessary. My Akela (Crosman KRAL with 5 year warranty) is fantastic!
