I love my Prod - at 14 FPE with the 14.3 CPHP, it is a 50 yard gun. I have shot at longer ranges, but 50-55y is as far as I am comfortable with. 62y is the longest kill I have seen with it, my buddy dropped a jack rabbit. My barrel is the Marmot Militia barrel, btw - not the LW barrel.
What do you think is "longer ranges" versus "shorter ranges?"

Quite simple to modify a prod for long range provided you intend to swap barrels. IMO 15-16" barrel would suffice, with .1875" ports and the 18.1 gr you would make 30 fpe all day which would reach out to 75-100 yards...if thats what you want out of a prod. I would not rebarrel a prod myself though...the cost is basically of a new rifle that would do the job you ask.

A Geo Metro could beat a Ferrari if you put enough money into it, what are you really asking here? It depends on YOUR personal end goals, and desired outcome. I am sure many would opt for the Brocock over a modded prod though, just as many would go for the Ferrari over the modded Geo Metro.

Exactly, the Lothar Walther barrel, longer barrel, Huma regulator, 10 round magazine, more shot count. I'm just trying to bounce ideas off U experts before I make a decision.
