Hello guys. I just got two tins of JSB 18.1's for $40. I shot and shot, re-pumping my marauder four times in one day, but I couldn't get these pellets to shoot well. I know it's not me, because I've shot 1/2 inch groups at 55 yards with Crosman Premiers. I could get maybe two or three pellets through the exact same hole on the target, but the rest of my 5 shot groups were everywhere. I thought maybe my Crosman barrel didn't like the pellets. But they cost $40! I can't waist them. I thought maybe if I got a LW barrel for my Marauder, it would shoot better altogether. Has anyone tried this? Thanks!

CA was this rifle accurate with the Crosman premiers? If so, maybe it's pellet-picky.
Would be a lot easier and sensible not to try different barrels if there is a good pellet match. You could sell or trade the JSBs.

The reason I don't care much for the premiers is because they are so light. I want to be able to shoot 18.1's accurately because I want a long range airgun with more knockdown power. If crosman made a heavy pellet, that'd be cool, but they don't. So, that's why I want a new barrel to shoot JSB's accurately.

For a long range Marauder get a 25 cal and use JSB Kings. You might try something in the 15 gr. range. I think JSB makes a 22 in that range.

For the money you could spend on a new LW, the machining, and a couple of mods you could have easily bought a .25 synrod which is a better barrel from the start and a better caliber for long range i.e. 100 yards.

From what I've heard, the Marauder seems to like Crosman and Beeman Kodiak pellets. Perhaps it just doesn't like the JSBs for some reason? My suggestion is to just shoot with whatever is most accurate in your rifle. The extra knockdown power is nice to have but accuracy is more important. Have you tried H&N Baracudas?

Ok. That sounds like a good idea. I'll try out some other JSB's and if they don't do good I'll go back to premiers.
