Ordered a new toy for Christmas from Amazon, great price through prime. I always liked the styling of this rifle and it is truly amazing in every aspect. Shot some pellets over the chronny , the croman premiers averaged 954 twelve shots ,es-24, div-6 and JSB i8.13 ,5 shots av-867,es-6,div-2. After confirming chronny numbers I shot five shots 30 yards with JSB 18.13, stacking same hole.I'm still running tests with this gun and it may be a while before I'm done. I have some NSA 17.5 2165 on hand and had to try a few and were stacking those slugs at a mildot below the crosshairs , Wow ! I will have to put this out to other owners with this type of rifle, if you experience a restriction of putting the mags into the breech, chances are the cocking lever tension screw have backed out into the mag slot cavity. Back it out enough to gain more tread , blue lock tite , screw it back in until you like the way the cocking lever snaps closed. Moderator ? a big YES !
 
Hey Wendell, recently bought a Cayden, haven’t shot it for accuracy yet but just ran a magazine over the chrony today to check it out finally.
12 shot average on full power was 919 fps with the JSB 18gr. for 33.95 fpe. Cocking was nice and smooth and trigger felt surprisingly nice. Looks good too. Really nice gun for the price (got it for $390 on sale at Midway). Can’t wait to sight it in and shoot some groups hopefully this weekend.
I had a DonnyFl Tanto in .25 from a gun I recently sold, does a nice job taming the bark.

Joekrooz, you will continue to love the Cayden. I stated to use the Tatsu moderator, one shot was enough until I put on the 30cal 0db. I also use the Sumo at times with great results. Got to respect my neighbors.😄 When I shot those few slugs from mine today, the winds were gusting upwards of 40 mph. I put things away. More later, I ordered more Neilsen slugs.

Glad to hear about the Cayden. The neighbor came over when I was outside shooting my Akela, I was shooting at flies on my target at 25 yds out of about 15 shots I know I took out 2 for sure and then there was 6 or 7 that either got hurt or died of wind burn. It was fun. He sat there and laughed. He's got all powder burners and had never shot a PCP. I told him what I paid for mine and that it was considered a low end gun price wise anyway. Let him shoot a while. He likes the more traditional style gun as opposed to the bull pup. That;s where the Cayden came in. He just told me to order something and let him know how much he owes me. He;s only going to be shooting 50-60 yds and at small stuff. No bigger then a coon. I think he;ll like that gun with the warranty if it's like my Akela it shoots the Premier 14.3 hollow points real well so cheap pellets. I'll probably put the Alpha 6 on it and if he likes that order on of those for it. Be a nice setup. thanks.

Hey Wendell, I also bought the Cayden from amazon good prices ! thanks for the tip on the side lever , I haven't had any problems with the Cayden, other then not enough time to shoot ! lol . I use a Donny fl sumo , it does make the gun longer, but the shhh it produces is worth it . Shot some target groups, @ 80 yards and was getting 1/4"' to 1/2 " groups. I am sure that my shooting skills, or lack of ! LOL ! was an issue. Congratulations on your Cayden, I hope that you enjoy it. Please post more on your activities with the Cayden.

The Cayden seems well worth the actual list price, let alone the sale price, plus a 5 year warranty (I think?) I have guns costing 4-5 times the price of the Cayden, makes you wonder what makes them so much more money? Not complaining, just curious.

...there are details on the Craftsman series guns that are a bit crude in comparison to some high end brands...

...some one posted a bore scope picture of the new Akela and I have been trying to repress the memory of it with moderate success...

...the way my Cayden shoots is helping with this...

...I was originally going to quip "fit n finish" but my Cayden is actually fitted very well, with some crudeness in the finish...

...the stock on mine is a nice chunk of walnut but not epically attractive...

A bit off topic, but d@mn - I have thought to myself many times how incredible it is that we can actually do this! I've only really gotten into air rifles since July of this year due to shut downs/stay at home orders. But the quality and accuracy of air rifles and optics we have available to us today is mind-blowing to me.

And that Cayden is one handsome rifle at a very reasonable price.

I have the Kratos in 25 and I love it.

That big tank makes the shot strings look like it is regulated. At 525 FPS the shot string is probably around 100 shots, I am guessing as 2000 to 3000 psi yields over 150 shots at 410 FPS.

Presently I only shoot 10 yards and being able to turn the power down is a great plus. With Kings I have a range of 410 to 877 FPS with a turn of a dial. Somewhere down the road I will adjust the hammer spring to give me 525 FPS on low which is where the sweet spot starts for Kings. I worry this might turn the high power to a cliff string though on the other end.

I have a Chinese 4500 psi .5L cf tank sitting on the shelf that I have been considering replacing the OEM tank to offset the weight of the heavy Hawk 4x16 30mm FFP scope. Been dragging my heals doing that as the only place I carry it is 30 feet into the man cave to fill it.

I shoot into/through a large sound box that is covered with pillows taped onto the outside, with the very effective shroud, all I get is a ‘office stapler’ sound coming from the tank, just a dull metallic sound.

Diminished vision has taken me to 10 yards, tearing down my prod and Skyhawk to be ten yard power appropriate rifles has brought me to the easily adjustable Kratos. As a plus I can send it to Crosman when it starts hissing, which all pcp’s and some wives do.

Over my life span I have spent thousands on nice walnut, I never thought Crosman would give me that pleasure, this thing is really ‘purely’.

Enjoy that Cayden Wendell it is a good platform.

THAT looks exactly like what you shoot in at the local POLICE STATION to unload your newly acquired firearms when bringing in for registration!!!

Must be PRETTY DAMN QUIET!!!

man dude , that moderator you have on the end of the Cayden is massive !! lol I guess that when you are done shooting you can take a nap. If you take it out into field, don't forget the roll away stand. Just kiddin around , I too must keep my shooting on the silent ,I use a sumo on my Cayden, it's a little big, but it sure does keep thing quiet .

First one I ever saw was a permanent 15 foot rack of tires and you shot through the center. This one is a repurposed Christmas tree box, wrapped in floor sound dampening insulation, then a repurposed yoga mat, then every spare pillow in the house finished off with gorilla duct tape.

Yes, it is extremely effective, but does give you massive barrel droop if you screw it on a unsupported barrel.

good to know on the nsa 17.5 x 216.5 iI will order some. thanks for the info. Looks like the 20s are decent. Here in Idaho it's cold too, so when I go out to shoot I take my gun out and let the gun get used to the temp, I set up targets, my stand, get the coffee and a smoke, then shoot. seems that letting the gun get used to or ajusted , it shoots better then right from the house. A thing I noticed also is the pressure goes down some, cause of the cold. Not much, but if you shoot heavy pellets, towards the end of your fill, you will notice .
