Benjamin BulldogOwners

Hi,

I have been searching the net over for a big bore, and by several posts and vids, the Bulldog is top dog in my criteria.

The question that I have is there any generation better than another? How do i tell which gen I’m looking at when it’s used. Are there markings or serial numbers? I have my eyeball on a few, and I am uncertain what to ask to identify what gen, etc. thanks

There were earlier versions that some complained about. If I remember correctly it may have had something to do with the barrels. That’s the biggest issue I’ve seen with them. However, I don’t know how to identify the early ones by model or serial number. I’d think that if you bought a new one you’d avoid the issue some older Bullldogs had. My advice is once you get one with a good barrel producing good tight groups, stick with it.

it is called a Taurus now, worked over by veridium air, really like the Benjamin very accurate

Where did I do wrong? My dog will only shoot 2 rounds and then needs to be gassed back up. Thr pressure meter is still in the green. When I fill it I will hear a click then it will fire again.

I have a bulldog depinger, hammer is down all the way.

This is a new one.

Thanks

Dippy

The Bulldog depingers are not the best quality. It's possible it's causing problems. Use the metal Hill depinger if the ping noise bothers you. I run both of my Bulldogs without a depinger because the noise doesn't bother me much.

I would play with the trigger and the hammer spring a bit to address the issue you are having. You may have something too far one way or another.

I bought one back in December and it’s a pretty fun gun. No tack driver by any means but plenty accurate enough for hunting. Last month I fired up the 3D printer and made me a depinger, barrel supports, and a moderator.

I also ported the transfer port/valve, softened the return spring up, polished the hammer, and did some much needed trigger work. The bulldog has a extremely long second stage on the trigger. Some time spent with a file will really clean that up and make for a nice and short clean break.

I haven’t had time to chrono it or see if the supports helped the accuracy. But I have high hopes. The trigger feels amazing now and even with a moderator it cracks like a powder burner with 110g slugs
