Benjamin Bulldog still experimenting with .38 pistol reloads

All hornady 158 grain. Lead round nose Semi wad cutters hollow points Hollow base wad cutters shot backwards as a hollow point. All 50 yards no tethered on a bipod. 2900 psi fill down to a 2100 psi on 5 shots. The one with 3 touching is 80 yards. I'm happy with a store bought .38 I pass through a .357 Lee die. $.10 per round .

Barrel and valve port is .265" so I can still install a transfer port when I want 20 shots at 150ft lbs with 88 grain .380 bullets.

And I installed 3d printed barrel supports 



Without supports groups were twice as large

That's pretty cheap shooting right there! The round nose seem to be fairly predictable and group well.

I would be using those wadcutters to hunt with. It used to be sort of common knowledge that .38 special wadcutters performed better on game than round nose because of the wide metplat (nose).

.358 yielded good groups but .357 was awesome.

148 grain at almost 900fps 

50 yards on a bipod.

I haveva .356 die on order since the barrel slugged .357

About 10 center per round.

How many shots are you getting with those 148gr at 900fps?

I haven't run a shot string in awhile but one full mage of 5 shots with the same aim point all cluster up in that hole.

I can get 6 shots with tight groups from 2900 psi down too 1900 psi.

5 shot groups is about 1000 psi

Transfer port removed with barrel and valve ports at .265",3 turns on the factory hammer spring preload.

Any more turns and its just wasting air.Ill have to get my chronograph from my brother but weather has been rough here.
