Benjamin Akela Help

Picked up a Benjamin Akela, but having a couple issues.

1: Air blow by at the magazine. I am assuming either breech or barrel o rings so will replace both. Any idea where to get a parts list? I found a diagram, but no list.

2: It appears there are supposed to be about seven baffles in the shroud. Mine has one and the spring, which obviously does not push against anything. Soooo... when I shoot it without the suppressor, it is very loud, but single holes at about 10-15 yards. Now, put on a suppressor (I tried two - a 0db .177 and a DonnyFL .30) and at 15 yards, the pellet misses the target by over four feet! Apparently there is an alignment problem between the shroud and the barrel.

I would not think the baffles would be that critical, but maybe.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

I had blowbye around the magazine on mine, not a lot but I could feel it. I replaced barrel seals and breach seal.
Turns out it was the TP adjuster, there are two orings, the one on the left side (opposite end of the knob) had a nick in it. Replace both and problem solved.

In the shroud I believe but am not sure there should be an air stripper screwed to the end of the barrel which locates the shroud. Sounds like you are missing that, the shroud is flopping about and when you hang a can on the end of the shroud you end up with bad clipping.

I have a schematic but have to find it.

Thanks. I wish they provided an o-ring list someplace easy.

It does have the air stripper, but maybe that o-ring is too loose to locate the shroud correctly. I am not a fan of shrouds for sure!

I have some extra baffles. What is your caliber? Also, what is screwed onto the front of your shroud? Can you post a pic?

Here is a great option from Hajimoto Productions. Haji is an engineer and has delivered an effective upgrade to the Akela. His hew designed air stripper is 3-D printed, so finger tighten only. The stock air stripper is metal, so safe to stick an allen key through the holes to unloosen it if it is too tight to unloosen with your fingers.

Here is an Excel parts list for Akela Cayden Kratos - it lists all the o-rings.

Crosman doesn’t sell a full o-ring kit for these guns - so its expensive buying individual o-rings from them.

Surprisingly, this UK store sells complete o-ring kits for the Crosman Craftsman Series rifles - better solution than Crosman, lol.

Hope this helps,

Ed

That is awesome - thanks.

How did the baffles fall out? Did you remove one when the adapter was installed? Another question is did you purchase it new or used?
Got it with a gift certificate at an airgun event, so I assumed new, but probably was not. I'm thinking my grandkids were messing with it, as the ones I found were kind of in a line towards the target.
