I bought an Akela on sale at Utah airguns. Great choice. The trigger is awesome. And the gun is very accurate. Was quick to get tuned to 15.89 JSBs on 870 fps. Hole in hole at 36 yards. I'm going to try some nelson slug tomorrow .217 dia at 21gr see how they do.

congratulations on the Akela

The craftsman line from Benjamin has some nice options and is good value for money. I have the Cayden, I've had it for over a year and no problems. It likes the NSA 17.5gr & 20.2 gr slugs. It will shoot the crosman hp 14.3 gr good IF it's not too windy.

Congrats, it's a great rifle.
I've not had good luck with slugs yet, but have yet to try NSA. Mine actually loves the Crosman premier at 35 yards, and also loves the JSB 15.89

If yours is like mine.....I think you'll find that the Nielsen .218 will perform better than the .217.

Be sure to keep the speed up at 900fps or above, and they'll fly like lasers out to 100+ yards.
