Benjamin Benjamin 392pa not pumping air!?

So Friday I pulled my scope and used the 'plumb bob, flashlight' method to make sure it was level. BTW, that worked great!

Since the scope had been removed & replaced, the rifle needed re-zeroing. I was able to get a rough zero w/3 pumps @ 30 feet (a group 3 inches out at 10:00), but I wanted to refine the zero at 5 pumps-and the Benji isn't exactly backyard friendly at higher pumps, so yesterday I went to mom's (she has some land) and got to work.

I shot 2, 5 round groups and was pretty much on at 5-pumps / 30 feet, and was going to shoot a 10 round group to confirm.

About halfway through the shooting, the 392's pumping effort went to nothing. I checked and when I fully extended the pump arm, there was no sucking hiss of air being pulled into the tube, so of course, with no air to compress, there was no effort to closing the handle.

I plan on sending it to Mac1 this week for a complete Steroid treatment, minus the scope mount and rings, so is this now a non-issue?

It has become very difficult to get in touch with Tim lately.
Good luck.
I could use some of his secret sauce.
I was able to dig up his email from older posts, and sent him a message. Granted, it took 3 days, and two "Bounced email" notifications because his inbox was full, but he responded and gave his phone number.

Since I'm on Eastern Time, and he's Pacific, I waited until after 1pm and called him (WOW, he will talk with you!!!). He seems to prefer calls/texts over email, and last week, I had another long talk (via text), and ironed out all the details for the mods I want done - basically everything!

He says he is slowing down A LITTLE, but is still going strong with the steroid builds.

If you are sending it out for a steroid, just box it up as is and send it out. The pump cup not functioning and it will be replaced anyway. Removing the split pins in the front should be done at a minimum. Let Tim do it once. It should be good for decades.
Exactly my plan. Why tear it down to fix the pump cup/seals (or pay a local to do it), then send it to Tim, who's going to do all that anyway when he does the steriod?
