Tuning Benjamin 392 pa problems

New guy here so go slow. Anyway, replaced my rubber cup with a new one and it's difficult to pump. The trigger and valve is off of the rifle while testing. The rubber cup feels tight while moving the handle up and down. I was wondering if there was a special COATING on the inside of the surface where the cup moves and if so if coating is worn out would this make it hard to pump? It is the correct cup. Should I just LIGHTLY lub the rubber?

The cup shouldn’t be dry when you install it. Try using pure silicone oil or Pellgun oil.Benjamin usually recommends Pellgun oil but silicone oil will work for installation. After every tin of pellets being shot I put a couple drops on it. Everybody has their own opinion on how often to do it though. Also I always clean the compression tube real good before installing a new one.And Keep Your linkage pivot points lubricated every now and then also.
