Bend pellet skirts - production or transportation

I opened a new tin of JSB's this weekend and found that more than half the pellets have damaged skirts. Is this a production fault or have the tins been thrown around during transport?

I only buy the small tins (250 count vs. the 500-count tins), and only from Pyramid Air (they pack the tins in about 1" thick foam layers all around inside a stout cardboard box). Very few bent skirts in the last batch of 4 tins I ordered, so I would assume (as have others) that the pellets are not coming that way from the factory.

I got a tin of damged JSB pellets from Amazon. I know some of the damage was from transit and I lost half of the pellets if not more. Luckily I had enough of them to do some shot cards and confirm they were no better than my Crosman Premier Hollow Points. So I still call it a win. From now on I will order from Pyramid Air if I need any pellets not readily available at Walmart or Dicks
