Benchrest rifle

All comers at the event, yes it does. Sorry for you, but hers worked great, and if you saw the list of the other guns you would have even less to say. I don't remember exactly but it was mostly FX, a few Daystates, and two Thomas I believe. Her gun was at the same level for the two day event, it wasn't a fluke. Maybe yours not performing was the fluke. Either way, a lot of people seem to love the accuracy they are getting with theirs and a lot of tier one owners complain around here about problems with their guns too, and I'm not going to throw them under the bus for losing to an Avenge-X.https://www.airgunnation.com/threads/avenge-x-25-cal-won-a-bench-rest
There were no Thomas guns in the competition, but there were some good guns. Also there were no names that I recognized amongst the shooters, maybe because they were shooting pellets. Maybe you missed the conversations about the POI shifts on Avenge-Xs, I read them all because I had a vested interest in fixing my own. Seems the best fixes were replacing the barrels with FX barrels; I’d replace mine if I could get an indexed barrel before the port was cut.

You're missing my point that I read conversations about poi shifts on FX guns all the time too, and they still win all the time. The problem certainly isn't specific to the Avenge-X. I had read the list of guns, once, when C'cut checked if she had used an aftermarket barrel, because everyone thought that surely she had, and there wasn't another low end gun there. The question of the thread was if there was any good inexpensive benchrest rifles, winning being good, I have only heard of this one.

Bench rest is all about consistency . Winning a single match is nothing , shooting around the same score (give or take 1 or 2 points ) at 10 matches is much more impressive . At least to my thinking .
Please understand I am not dismissing her accomplishment in any way . Congrats o to her win .

The POI shifts on FX guns can be addressed with O-rings to reduce harmonics or a carbon fiber liner which straightens and stiffens the barrel. Those barrels can also be indexed to reduce left and right errors. The same barrels are used on their less expensive guns that are used with the high dollar ones. Nothing is more frustrating than having your gun dialed in only to watch the next impacts move an inch at 50yds. But you point that an Avenge-X won a competition is correct, a good shooter with a so-so gun is better than a so-so shooter with a good gun. At 100yds with a pellet, you better have your scope mounted correctly and that bubble on your level centered.
