Benchrest range layout

I’m in the process of building a range for Benchrest shooting. Will be shooting at both 25 yards and N50. I need plans for building benches, distances between benches, and construction of overhead canopy.
Any plans of existing ranges appreciated.

concrete top benches are the way to go

Do not attach the seat to your bench top. The guy that first drew up the plans for a bench with an attached seat should be shot…lol.

Get an adjustable drum seat.

Check out Open Grove in Oxnard, CA - 25m & 50 yd. Concrete Benches, individual adjustable seats, overhead canopy, lighting for evening shooting. About 14 benches. Awesome place.

My suggestions, For benches, they can’t be to heavy! If you build with wood (I assume treated) please make the top smooth such as a piece of 3/4 plywood over top of you decking material, also which ever design please leave enough width for a your elbow to rest on the top while seated behind rifle.

@DMTman Follow these steps:

1) click the 3 dots on the lower right corner of your list that you’d like to edit.

2) Next select “edit” from the drop down menu

3) Then move the blue cursor next to the item you’d like to delete and either you can delete it OR go to the thumbnail of the photo you’d like to delete at the bottom of the “edit” window and click the trash can icon in the upper right corner of the photo to delete it.

4) Finally click “save” to save a post your edited post.

For table top I would avoid any plywood, but some very solid wood or concrete plate that you can jump on it. @ my 100M range I can see the plywood is flexing 2 MOA under my elbow pressure but the sheet is tightened to a steel rail beneath (was tightened probably a decade ago). Low power scope you don't see it but try with x50.
