Benchrest competition what gun to start with

Planning on participating in a benchrest competition but I am unsure of which air rifle to buy for my first time my thought is to just go and get the FX impact with its versatility seems like a no-brainer but as I have never been in a benchrest competition not sure if that's the best idea please tell me your thoughts

Get on over to BR central & read everything under airguns.
Get to a Match.
Buy.

Sanctioned BR? Nothing above .22.

My first call would be to a Rapid Air Weapons dealer in AZ who specializes in BR and grab a BM500 of some sort..
Some folks like Thomas.
Run what ya brung is always fun also.

I would suggest you try going to a benchrest match and ask questions. Most shooters there will let you try their guns. Talking with other like minded fellow airgun enthusiasts and shooting many types of airguns is the main reason I participate in the EBR.
There are a lot of very good guns out there and I think they all are capable of winning matches. The only unknown is what feels comfortable for you.
For most people, a top quality airgun cost a lot of money and being able to shoot a variety of guns first hand and asking questions will really narrow down your choices.

+1 to the above posts. Go to a match and see what folks are shooting. You won't see many FX rifles. Mostly RAW and Thomas. But, go see first and get a sense if this is the kind of shooting you want to do. Folks are happy to share info. and perhaps let you shoot their rifles.
