Beginner Pellet Choice, 25 cal.

Thanks. That's great to hear. I'm already realizing I need to spend on something every time I turn around and I haven't even fired the first shot. 😂.
I'm planning to order the rifle this week (Air Venturi Avenger 25 Bullpup 2) and just want to have the tools I need. Other than some 10 pump as a kid and some 22 plinking/pest control I'm really green to the community. I already love it but am quickly realizing it's not cheap.
Thanks again. I'm sure down the road I'll get something better but I'm happy to know I can get by for now.
Much appreciated

I've been using mine for over a year now without any issues. Only thing I had to figure out was how to change settings to show fps (feet per second ) versus mps (meters per second). When you turn the unit on, a few things show up but when the screen reads "PS", You short press the power button and the screen will read "fps" and you're good to go. Otherwise, you'd have to do the conversion manually. Unless you have taken the time to understand what a meter is....but why do that and be like the rest of the world??? :ROFLMAO: The unit has some other functionality but I haven't looked that far into it. All I want to know is how fast am I going. There are a few you tubes you can search.

Amazon has a great return policy.

When I use it, I leave out the U-bolt and the top half of the clamp and use the zip tie. I don't think it ever missed recording a shot. Just put the moderator or barrel even with the bottom clamp and zip it. Once I get a nice consistent velocity that I want, slide it off (easy to do if you don't over-tighten the zip tie) and start shooting groups.

In FX Crown's, they seem to like the H&N Hunting Baracuda, 24.47gr hollow point pellets. They are the best ones that I have found for consistent accuracy. AA, FX, or even JSB 25.4/25.39 domes pellets also work well in Crown's and Impacts with the AA and FX brands working the best.

Just a note, I may have posted here, too lazy to look back, but I've done it elsewhere, not one more molecule of air than is necessary to get the thing out of the barrel. Anyway I thought I had my Raptor pretty much there but it wasn't quite right. You can adjust the regs, the amount the valve opens and the tension on the hammer spring, a bit of a pain but I figured out a way to make it way easier. Ok I started backing off the valve opening until speeds dropped, then went back up right to the bare edge, then I did the same to the hammer spring and, whole-E-poop, the thing just worked, pellets, slugs, it was like magic. I'm welding the darn thing shut now. It's AEA 33.9 pellets and AEA 30.2 slugs.
