Beeman SS2 blue ring scope

Hi ScottPerry

Typically we don't allow "pre-sale/promotional" ads like this. But I couldn't find anything about SS2 scopes in the search engine. Ya seem like a nice fella & since you have a rather unique product I'll let this topic run.

In order to sell something in the Classified section you must adhere to the rules found here http://www.airgunnation.com/topic/classified-rules/?view=all

After reading up a bit on this, I guess it’s technically called “Blue Ribbon”. Does anyone know anything about these scopes? Why they were so expensive back in the day? Are they rare and/or valuable today? What models, power, and features are most desirable? I can’t seem to find much on the internet about them. Only a bunch of old for sale threads with prices ranging from $75-600. Why such a price variance? Thanks for any help.

I have a Blue Ribbon SS2 3X21 made in Japan and its one of my favorites.
the original ones made in japan are tanks and I have seen them go for $250-$400 used
the Chinese ones are not near as good and sell new for under $100
I have a friend who bought a chinese one off Ebay for $75.00 new and put it on his Beeman R-1 and it destroyed the scope after 15 shots
I got this from a search, this quote is about the scopes made in japan NOT China.
Robert Beeman had designed the scope to withstand the beating that optics take from magnum spring air rifles

Thank you guys for the link and for shedding some light on my scopes. Yes, they are definitely made in Japan. In fact I have the original receipt from 93’ and the two combined cost $700. I’m not sure if the fact they are new and with lighted reticle makes them that much more rare, desirable, or valuable, but it seems like I stumbled on a pretty good find. I think I’ll hang on to one and try putting it on the RWS rifle he had too. Thanks again for the knowledge and good luck everyone.
