Beeman R9 Goldfinger. Just shooting in the rain in Oklahoma! 5 shots and 1 ragged hole at 25 yards. .20 caliber. The Best of Both Worlds! This is my only .20 cal. But she can shoot!
I bought it used without scope. Been a little abused. He rested it on rails and stuff so scratched underneath. When I came over to look at it he dry fired it to show me how powerful it was! I almost threw a fit. Felt like I had to buy it just to get it away from him LOL.
That’s one of the few break barrels I drool over. Excellent 5 shot group! I feel your pain on the dry fire. That would’ve bothered me and been hard to keep my mouth shut. It’s surprising that an r9 owner would do that.
Bought my Goldfinger Combo from AoA in 2007. It was packaged with a Bushnell Banner 4-12x40 scope, rings and the gold trigger. Mine is.22 caliber. Still have it and all that it came with. The scope and stock are on other rifles now, it has JM internals and some aftermarket parts like a trigger and safety button. It also has a chopped barrel with a barrel sleeve on it and wears a homemade walnut stock.it shoots H&N FTT 5.53/54 the most accurate and it's was my first "quality" air rifle I purchased after getting into airguns.
Beeman R9 .20 Goldfinger combo (with mounts and a Bushnell Banner 4-12X40) was my first springer. Shot Beeman Silver Jets (lathe turned ), Crow Magnums, Ram Jets, Silver Aces, Silver Arrows and Crosman Premiers until the spring broke (in 2 places per Paul Watts). Shortly after I stumbled upon the old YF and learned about spring gun tuning, sent it to Paul and the rest is history.
Good shooting on a rainy day with your R9 .20. And thanks for the trip down memory lane.
I’m in process of refurbishing a 2006 .20 GF. Bought from well known AG guy in Montana. It was a hunter so not in the greatest condition. Parts are ordered.
