Beeman Beeman r7 in uk

A r7 in the uk is pretty scarce lots of hw30s but the r7 are much nicer .
This particular r7 in 177 had been doing a good job of eating itself suffering from dreadful galing. A comprehensive strip and rebuild was the order of the day .
A cocking arm modification was done including how it’s retained ,got rid of that pin and added a set screw adjuster .the piston was turned down and rear buttons added to the skirt the original spring was good so custom guides made along with top had . Deburr on all slots .seal wise 25mm Brit seal with their breach seal . Rifle is back together and shooting nice very consistent over the chrono @8fpe What’s really nice the rifle was bought with a blue ribbon scope which is excellent. I’m missing the dovetail front sight can’t find one in the uk so hopefully I’ll have better luck searching in the US 🇺🇸 a few pics

Any pics of the arm / pin set up with the set screw … it’s a hurdle with that platform and the 99/50 articulating arms.
A pal has borrowed the rifle Chris so I can’t whip the stock off to show images but I can explain from this pic . I freed up the cocking linkage knuckle and reduced the arm sightly, re profile the ear on the arm and added a delrin insert to the arm similar to the new 99/50 . The strip only needs to be .5-1mm proud of the arm . I found the location of the pin a pain as it’s a fraction to low with the strip fitted. I scraped that and added a brass m6 set screw behind the pin location and forend locator. You can dial in the fit and tension to the arm so you achieve a nice smooth cocking cycle , when happy locktight in . Works well far better .

Nice mod, you always impress … The 20 cal R7 , (Königen) you have seen it that’s a tad snappy with the Vortek kit in it. It’s at 8 ft lbs , Vortek likes to use short stout springs with less pre load. It is deadly but there is instant load on the barrel at break to load it as well as wants to close up fully From the spring tension Not sure I’ll mess with it as it’s deadly accurate. But it’s one of those things. …….

I’ve never tried any vortek springs few over here have fitted the pg kit in 30s and like them . To be honest I could loose a tad of preload off this spring as the seal beds in , but at present it’s very consistent so I’ll see
