beeman R10 help

i have my dads r10. has barely been shot and sat in my safe for last few years. I want to use it to shoot rats at night. (i have a problem). can anyone here help me with optics?

i have put two different scopes on it over past 20 years. Neither holds 0. last one was a cheap Academy AIR gun scope.... still not working..

I actually prefer peep sites on this gun but I don't think that would work well shooting rats at night with green laser flashlight?

so i am looking for advice on what to use to site it.. (my stock rear site is missing the "blade". I need advice on what is best site/ light combo to shoot rats in dark.

thanks...

also, any advice on who to send it off to and get it reworked/ tuned. it seems to shoot hard now but has not been looked at ever.

This might be helpful and save you from having to buy another scope or fixing your sights.

I am not aware of any springer rated night vision scopes and all six of my regular scopes got ate by my Diana 45. A inexpensive PCP and a Chinese pump 300-$400 would solve that problem. But then you need the scope. I have both the ATN X-sight 4k pro, Sightmark photon and a DIY unit I put together. They all work great as does teh Pard 007 and 008

so what you are saying is it might be better if i don't use the r10 for night shooting but rather get me a new pellet rifle? I need some help since my up to date stops around 1988 when my dad purchased the r10. I also have his benjamin pump which he gave me as a kid... with open sights it is very accurate.. when i was a kid, i glued a peep site on it and shot wasp on the shed walls. I had the benjamin reworked a few years back and its great.

So, if you or anyone would educate me and suggest what type/ brand pellet gun i should get to shoot rats inside /outside in 30yrd MAX distances. something i don't have to cock or pump up seems to make more sense.

I love guns and don't mind adding to my collection esp. if i have a reason to tell the wife i "need" this.
