Beeman R1 Tyrolean- time to shoot a few, admire and then a wipe down.

I have a number of airguns I really love and can't quite say I have a favorite but I would sure hate to see either of these beauties go. My Beeman R1 Tyroleans hold a very special place in my collection and I am lucky enough to have found 2 of the less than 25 that were produced. My first find was a bit of a search and as they say good things come to those who wait, this was a special find. Fully engraved and tuned by its original owner it's .177cal. He touched almost every surface from compression tube to trigger guard, muzzle weight, rear sight cover plate and even the cocking arm. It sports a Beeman Blue Ribbon 68R 4-12x40 scope and double adjustable mounts. My second R1 was a fantastic bargain and is in .20cal and also has the Blue Ribbon 68R scope, rear sight cover plate and muzzle weight.

Mike

Once again I'm drooling in my coffee as I read your post. Absolutely beautiful rifles! Love the 68Rs. You never see those scooes.

I had an R1 tyro a few years back in a fancy walnut stock. I sold it to a friend because I just am not a tyro shooter. Plus his collection needed it.

You surely have one of the best collections around. Thanks for sharing.

Some gorgeous wood shown here.
I’ve never tried a Tyrolean stock as I’m left eye dominant. Don’t think I’ve ever seen a lefty Tyrolean.

Mr. DualMag Mike. What an amazing collection you have Sir. I have a big Alkin compressor but still love my tuned spring guns. Please let me know if you’re ever selling any ambidextrous or lefty useable tuned high power springers.
My Holy Grail of airguns would be a Medina 54 .22 with a power tune like my old John Thomas 54 .22 doing 25ftlbs.
I’d also love a 12ftlb Hector Medina 54 .177 with refined front inserts and Williams micro click rear.

Talking about very nice wood. Mr. Michael McKeown does some amazing work and I have a friend whose a Master Craftsman, Gunsmith, Machinist, stock maker, etc. along the lines of Dave G’s. talents.
I asked him how much & long to refinish my Steve Corcoran Walnut thumbhole lefty. He said 3 months as he lets each process hang dry. I couldn’t believe it would take that long but he explained that his stocks pores will never shrink and show. True exhibition grade stuff. I’ll ask him for some pictures.
How’s the factory finish on some of these beauties? New Minnelli stocks?
Man I miss Dave G. and that stock maker in the Philippines. I forget the name.

Anyway thank you for sharing guys. Gorgeous items I appreciate more than any new factory PCP.
