His numbers are only 9 fps on average, slower than my stock maintenence free, HW30's numbers, and will likely improve.Agreed. But it’s a R7. You don’t want to beat the pellet to the target while checking ..
That being said , power with out a racy is a faster miss
When I was building big guns for people they insisted this amount of power .. I said WHY?
down range 750fps is all you need to 40 yards with it sighted in at 25.
Looks like a ArH seal .Nope it’s a los of tiny volume.. albeit tiny it’s not the loss issue. it’s the seal sizing. They are designed to fit snugger and burn in. It’s a manufacture % game as every tube is different and if thats Built in leeway. That and they have no sharp edges to grab threads and holes for The average Joe installer. The more powerful guns like R1/ R9 that have the spring power to heat them , compression size them in. Smaller guns won’t generate the needed heat and friction to size down. Macarri just plain out builds what he wants and tells you strait out. YOU NEED TO SIZE THEM. (Which I have no issue with)
I make 90% of my seals for my big power guns and all 27 mm Tommy /Longbow guns.
I can not take any credit as it’s a direct copy of the Venom power pulse seal. They are a different breed for the leading edge is sharp and the way it fits is much different. when done right they act More like a O ring with out the O ring shot cycle.
The VAC SEAL MAY LOOK ALIKE ,BUT IT SEALS MUCH DIFFERENTLY..
Air is pushed against the lip and the micro gap forces the seal to expand. (it’s why after break in some Vac seals will not test positive for psi at the port yet shoot fantastic as they need constant psi to open.
At the end of the stroke you get a pulse blast from the gap.
Power pulse Venom seals were sharp to the end and sealed with a snug er fit that had a 1 mm contact point ,( you can see the smoother area in the pics on the edge) they build immediate psi at moving. (Just like a O ring ) , the angle onnthe cup is steeper and its a tad deeper for a bigger pulse. (Yes I’ve tested them deeper and it’s a down hill loss). They are no longer made as ,well there is no more Venom/V-Mach. So I make my own , then again I make my own guns too.
ARH. COPIED Venom also. At one time they worked on some Joint projects.Looks like a ArH seal .![]()
This is true ,but the HO KIT IS SUPPOSED TO give you a bump. It’s a R7. I get it. I’m not disparaging it as the R7 mob will be out in full force telling us all that they have killed a bear at 70 yards and it’s shot placement ..His numbers are only 9 fps on average, slower than my stock maintenence free, HW30's numbers, and will likely improve.
That's alot of power for an R-10. Do you mean R1?Guys thank you "ALL" for all the insight... I am always interested in reading and learn about all this stuff. it is an R-7 with limited power to begin with.
I will either shoot it 1000 shots or maybe take it apart and resize the seal.. Kind of leaning toward shooting it a lot..
one of the reasons i expend more power was because of my R-10 power increase..2 completely different guns of course..
but those results were.
Before tune( with an old maccari kit probably 10 years old)
11.42 743FPS
13.73 648FPS
after tune with PG-4 just dropping it in..
11.42 856 FPS
13.73 758 FPS
i will shot this R-7 and report back..
Thank you Guys!!!
Is it the New .905 27 coil one or the .860 spring. Use a new Vac seal. They are sized well for R1 and will shoot in fast.I have the new pg-4 kit and the new cocking shoe for the R 1 ( mandatory to use the new style cocking shoe with the vortek kits) it will be interesting to see the difference in velocity’s .
i have a baseline from the R1 but it was never opened up in 43 years. The gun was totally neglected
