Beeman qb78d co2 hard to open question

Hey.

Just got me a new air rifle, beeman qb78 deluxe. It have bolt action and it's a co2 rifle, and so far it seems like good quality for the money.

After i was done with it i could not open the co2 screw cap to remove the co2, i took all the force that i had with my fingers and it would not be unscrewed. Im a strong guy i would say, like it's glued together and cant be unscrewed. I havent use tool yet, and im affraid that i twist or bend the rifle with the force from my hand trying to unscrew it? Or must you use tool to break something or get the co2 sylindre loose?

Happy for replies :)

Never unscrew it unless you know it's empty of Co2. Sometimes, like the Umarex Fusion, those cheap seals expand when they absorb Co2 gas and can take a couple hours to shrink back. Or you just over-tightened it and didn't back it off about 1/8 turn or so to get the piercing needle out of the way of the newly-made hole in the Co2 Cartridge to let the gas out of the front one?

As long as there is substantial pressure from unused C02 in the tube, the cap will be Extremely difficult to remove! Once the shot velocity begins decrease, you can begin to remove the cap. I will dry fire mine a couple of times and easily unscrew it.

I Really enjoy mine! Did some work to the internals and trigger as well as added a GMAC barrel (Walther copy) and its an Exceptional shooter! Incredible bargain considering the cost!!

Yes, they are. They were copied from the 3rd variant of my variant one 160 Pellgun that uses most of the same parts, including the XP-Tuned valve I bought. And with the Archer replacement valve (copied from Crosman redesign of 1963), it went from 50 shots with the 55-56 valve down to 25 shots on the button. After pulling the trigger on that 25th shot, it just goes crack! pupheeeeeew. Empty and done. Cap comes off real easy at that point. With gas, not so much or the cheap seal bit.

Thanks, yes it was Just to shoot it almost empty then it released easy :)

One other thing is that when i try it with open fiberoptic sight it shoot littlebit to right, even if the sight it adjusted all the way to right.

On 20 meter if i sight on a can of cola it hit the neighbor can insted that stand on the right side. Could my barrel be bent or is it no hope for this open sights?

I'm not sure if I'm reading your post about the sight correctly, but when it comes to adjusting the rear sight you adjust it in the direction you want the pellet to land. So if you want the pellet to impact to the left, move the rear sight left, likewise if you want the the pellet to impact higher, raise the rear sight.
Hope that helps!
