Beeman HW77 “Launch Version” also known as a Mk1

Last week I won this Beeman HW77 on eBay for a winter project. I was surprised when researching its age based on its serial # it was made in 1984 and is known as a “launch version” also known as a Mk1. This one has two scope stop holes on the rear of the compression tube block, the spring and ball non removable front sight, still in great shape as well. There is no bear trap setup on this rifle, also this one has the 25mm piston seal.

After taking the trigger out to unstick the safety I ran a few pellets through it, so far so good it’s a shooter. This means I may or may not need to rebuild, will know more when I open it up to clean and use new lube and moly paste. Although new seals never hurt.

The metal will need some attention, I like this one so much I may send it off to be reblued. The wood is in great shape so I may not refinish it.

It is missing the rear sight, maybe one day I will find one, until then I will be thinking about a scope setup for it.

Best of all it arrived today 10/31 just in time for my birthday.
