Beeman AR2079A

I ran across this piece when I was researching target vs Tyrolean. It’s ridiculously inexpensive, it also mentioned QB79, isn’t that a Chinese or Hatsan make? Anyone have one? This one runs on all sort of different size tanks, including a 9oz paintball tank. Can I just unscrew it? Don’t want to waste CO2

Yes, you can unscrew it, but why would you? Unless it’s empty? If it’s a paintball style tank with a valve you can unscrew it, but co2 will destroy your tank seal on the way out sometimes, the only problem with co2 is it’s so unstable with temp change, almost unusable in winter, fantastic @ 70-80 F, anyway, those QB Guns can be a lot of fun to mess with, if you want them to shoot good, usually you need to disassemble, clean debur them, pretty ruff, but you will get like 4 to 500 shots out of that sucker @ 8-9 fpe.

I had a Crosman Nightstalker it used the big carts. Got a leak and it cost me eight or ten bucks. Troubleshooting the leak cost me much more as there is no way to turn the gas off once you pierce the cartridge. So you think you have the leak fixed and your next cart tells you otherwise. Then you just stand there and watch your money blowing in the wind until you finally do get it fixed. If you try to unscrew it you loose it all just the same. The gun got stole so I don't have to worry about that anymore.

Since the bottle is not hidden deep inside the gun you can get adapters to convert it to a 12 gram cart, or some are two carts, as well. Or as stated above put the valve in so you don't have loose all of your co2 if you get a leak.

Those QB co2 air rifles are nice co2 guns. I got a used (AR2078B .177 that takes 2 # 12 gram co2 powerless) off yellow classifieds years ago. Was originally tuned By Mike M from Flying Dragon & had a Rich from Michigan custom shroud made for it, that the previous owner had done to it. Only modifications I did was make the stock Ambidextrous for lefty shooters. Gun is PcP accurate in warm weather.

There is a 12g only version, AR2078A, and it’s better looking, but they are sold out. I saw one like this for $167, bottle not included, and like biohazard mentioned if you have the right adapter, you have 4 options for power, including refillable. Since I already have 12g, I’ll probably think about it until the 78’s come back it stock, they look so cool, and I enjoy shooting without a scope.

I know this is old but how did you make the stock ambidextrous for a lefty shooter?
