BB speed FPS , FX radar ?

I have one of the new Barra BB gens 400 E, I was trying to compare the speed to the red Ryder BB gun.
My FX radar will not pick up on the BBs are they to small are am I doing something wrong?
Just thought I would throw the question out there if any one else has tried to get the FPS on BBs

Though I've not tried that particular setup with BB's; I have had issues in the past with .177 pellets zipping through the traps of my chrony. Especially under indoor lighting. I had to go to one of the special lighting systems that use IR LED's. Now my setup is darned near 100%.

As I understand it the radar sends out a beam that bounces off the back of the pellet with some of it returning to the device.
Some, because the beam spreads out on its way to the pellet and again on the way back.
With a flat or hollow base enough of the beam comes back for the receiver to 'see' it.
But a BB does not have a flat base, so there is nothing to return the beam.
