BB don’t shoot 50yards, PCPs do :)

Before I continue I am going to state again I by no means hold any affiliation with the company, and I’m just simply impressed with the value.

Xisico Sentry V2 (.177)

I am not a youtuber but I uploaded a video just to show the accuracy of this rifle, and I take these shots all day long for fun. I am no Ted or Matt but this rifle takes the lead when you get it in your shoulder. My boss insisted quote “B.B. guns don’t shoot 50 yards” and my intention was not to impress him, but educate him. I often see airgunners get upset over these comments, and we have all heard something along these lines before. But I simply wanted to educate him on the accuracy, power, and effectiveness of shooting PCPs and their abilities (at a value priced level). Opinions are just that, an opinion; and my aim was to never swing anyone’s opinion in either direction other than to be receptive to the new information given.

All the information for everything is in video description. I’ll upload more scope cam shots here and there, but don’t plan to make a habit of it, but it’s fun to see! Enjoy guys!!

I once visited my local airgun store where there was a gentleman speaking to another (who let out a little bit about his huge collection of airguns) about how he won a (powderburner) shooting match while we waited to be helped by the sales folks. When the time came for him to be assisted by one of the associates he asked about one of the airguns on display, and the next question that came out of his mouth was "Is it accurate?"

With all due respect and no offense to any of you, when a champion shooter asks if a decent rifle is accurate it kind of makes you question whether he/she wins matches because of the equipment he/she uses. It's as if he/she is reliant on the best possibly made gun and to have it take precedence over sheer shooting skill. I've said it many times before: At least with air rifles, as long as the right pellet is used, through developed skills and correct shooting technique any good-quality rifle will shoot accurately. Marksmanship primarily involves the body to a greater degree than it does the gun.

Whenever I hear shooters especially question the accuracy of a high-end gun, I already know they're a rather untrained person in the art of marksmanship--no matter how "expert" they think they are.

To the original poster: good shooting!

Cheers!

It is why I don't take seriously anything concerning a rifle's performance capabilities uttered by even the most popular folks on Youtube. How can you take what they say seriously in their reviews when, for one example, they neglect to follow through following a shot. I encourage you to go see any of their videos and pay attention to the moment after they pull the trigger--they would often bring forward their trigger finger immediately following the shot break even though they keep their head planted on the stock of their gun. That is not correct follow-through.

If I have to give an example of two of the very few shooters on Youtube who I think are great marksmen, it would be the two folks on Verminhunters TV who are from the UK. Those two guys are skilled shooters.

One other example I’d like to point out is that on some slowmotion scopecam videos, whenever I see the pellet fly off to one side relative to the vertical strand of the reticle (similarly, when the reticle moves to either side) I already know that the shooter’s technique is lacking. Proper technique is correctly administered when the pellet tracks along the vertical stadia of the reticle or when the reticle moves straight back or slightly upwards (not sideways).
