Bauer JR II/PB-E1 question

I have a chance to buy a 2005 Bauer JR locally. They want $1,000 and say it has only been used to fill 5 bottles, but it does not have a motor with it (said it was on a boat), just the compressor with an electric clutch and dryer. There is not way to really test it, but what should I look for? Hard to tell if it will reach 4000+ psi when it can’t run . Also does that seem like a reasonable price?

That is a super deal and although there is risk, the chances are the risk is not going to be catastrophic because parts are readily available. Remember, air is the most expensive element of our sport.

A high quality single phase 3 HP motor and pulley can be found for $200-300. It's a steal at that price.
