So, i'm considering getting a bullpup in .22. The guns i'm considering are the taipan veteran, agt vulcan 2 and the fx wildcat mk2. How do these three compare when it comes to performance, reliability, ease of use and robustness?

I can only vouch for the Wildcat synthetic and a kalibrgun cricket in .22 because those are the 2 I own. Both guns are excellent although the Wildcat is a bit more refined. As for accuracy either one could win on any given day. either one has been very reliable and has held zero shot after shot, day after day, week after week. If I had to chose I'd go with the wildcat because...It has a smoother cocking mechanism, although fewer shots in the magazine its easier to load into the gun, is a little shorter and lighter and damn good looking. At the moment it has a added Huma reg and power plenum and has lots of power. I currently have the reg set at 125 bar getting 40+ shots @910fps (JSB18grs) on a 225bar fill.

I have a Wildcat Mkii Compact. It is shooting really nicely so far. I got really worried after reading all the comments about FX and being "not rugged." So i decided to take a "risk". I have not put my Wildcat this past month back in the FX box. It goes leaning against the wall, thrown / laid on the ground when lazy and just put whereever i feel to see what happens. So far i have not had POI shift yet. THat is with leaving the Donny FL Tanto on it the whole time. I am shooting JSB Hades and H&N Grizzly as it is .25.
I will say this. The Wildcat magazines are narrower then Edgun (not the brand you mentioned) so they wont hold griffen slugs in them. I have to find a Single Load Tray for it to work. The Edgun Lelya takes almost all slugs into the magazine that i have fed it. It does not shoot as nicely as the Wildcat though. It is as accurate and smaller however. Just thought to mention the magazine issue. Otherwise I am still loving it. Even with all the bad comments on here about Impacts and Wildcats.

I've seen a lot of bad comments towards fx here, about them not being robust and what not. From what you tell me it seems to me that the wildcat is a pretty robust gun. Where do all the not robust comments come from?

I’m starting to think that Robust is a very amorphous word. I also have noticed that many people time their FX right away.
I know when I opened up my 4Runner the first time and tried upgrades I messed it up until I figured out what I did wrong. No one is going to convince me now that there is a more reliable truck then 4Runner. I figured out what I did wrong and worked back. It’s been awesome.
i am going to keep “beating up “ my wildcat for a bit and see what happens. Then I plan to post on here the result one way or another. I should note. I am no marksman or benchrest shooter. So I might not be a good measuring rod.

People will say fords are better than chevys and dodge is better than ford etc. Truth is they all make good vehicles the real question can you drive then.

I bought the Wildcat from a member here that had Utah Airguns hydro dip the Kuiu "Vias" choice over the Verde.
Local Hydro dip shops will camo your rifle stock.
The Lelya is just Allen Camo tape in Mossy Oak that can easily be applied and removed . Very inexpensive and protects from scratches .

Mk1 wildcat 25 with over 15000 rounds through without ever skipping a beat . Never an issue shoots 40 rounds with a max deviation of 8 FPS . It has been a solid performer!

Of the 3 you mentioned, I'd go with the Taipan Veteran. Since you mentioned robustness and if you want an airgun that you can run over with a Toyota Landcruiser, I recommend another brand that you didn't mention. EDgun.

As for the BEST... I have a Lelya 2 and a Uragan Compact. While not on your list, these are true bullpups, lengthwise. As everyone else notes, accurate, tough, adjustable. Not just rear mounted receivers, that end up with 30"+ overall lengths. Which in the true sense of the term, is not really...a bullpup.
Bullpups (the Steyr AUG was one of the first commercially available to both military and civilian market) started in the late 70's (or so). Being the first..."close combat weapon". As in, being able to turn around in a hall, without raising the barrel to clear a wall..!

I'm probably going to get a lot of crap from this post but here is myself opinion-
I am done buying FX products they are way overpriced for the quality you get. I have owned many FX products. The last one I owned was a Verminator MKII .22 and arrow big piece of crap! It done it in for me, no more FX's. They use pure quality of metals and cheap material in certain areas that need to be more robust. Way to overpriced!
