I have a Bass Pro store 5 minutes away. Went there yesterday and they said FOID card and 3 day wait is required now for Illinois. .177 caliber can still be purchased and shipped from several other internet stores without FOID.

Ouch, be careful with bass pro online anyway, they sold me 2 pellet rifles that were suppose to be 800FPS and they sent me the Canadian versions that were only 450fps.

What's a FOID card? Never heard of it but I'm still fairly new and working on a learning curve.

That is pretty crazy. According to the feds a firearm must create an explosion to propel a projectile (which airguns do not do). I am going to have to look up what IL definition of a firearm is.....

You need a FOID if over.18 and over 700fps, in the lovely state Illinois.
