Basement shooters

Ha, love it. I got a laugh out of that one. I shoot my RAW TM1000 FT gun in my basement all winter, practicing the kneeling and standing positions between 10 meters and 19 yards.

Hello I am a newbie to this hobby. Benjamin Sheridan .20 and Daisy 93A to play with. I was wondering, can someone tell me if bb's and pellets will penetrate a hanging sheet of carpet?
I am thinking about making a backstop with a gutter floor to recover the shots.
So, looking from the side, the target is in front, a hanging piece of carpet in the middle that will swing freely when hit by the shots, a ply or metal wall at back, and a gutter floor to collect the shots for re-use. Diagram attached.

Only have 10 yards in the basement for shooting.BUT when the boss/wife is away I squeeze off a few on the upstairs 20 yard range.

I only have 33 feet in my basement crawl space to shoot. Because I shoot either Weihrauch rifles or higher end PCP's I pretty much shoot 1mm to 3mm dot ... only

Quick question for the indoor shooters. I thought about shooting in the garage which I can get a little over 10 yards but one thing got me concerned: lead dust. When I open the moderator there is a coat of very fine lead dust so when shooting there must be more than what got stuck to the moderator get shot into the air. Has there been study or experiment on this? Just wondering how unhealthy shooting indoors is unless with dedicated lead free pellets.

i shoot the same ones in the basement i do in the backyard or outside. just turn the power down when i can. so a couple 177 springers, a modded 1377, and down to one pcp, my escape ul .22. there was a freedom/aspen, and huben being shot down there before i sold them
my backstop is about 10 inches deep of rubber mulch, so not too concerned with lead dust, but keep a fan running in the basement when shooting that cycles air from outside.

There have been several threads on this. Unfortunately I don't have any of them bookmarked but did find this one:

Most seem to say no big deal and some have quoted tests done at indoor ranges. I'll see what I can find other threads.
There are obviously lead free options and I do recall reading about some airguns that do well with lead free pellets. According to a previous owner one of my Leshiy 22 barrels supposedly shoots the GTO lead free very well but I haven't tried it yet.
As I recall my 22 GTO's are significantly more expensive than the 177 options so I doubt I'll be shooting 22 GTO's indoors this winter.
At the house we lived in last winter I could shoot 27 yards indoors. We are now in a better house for us in every other way but I can only shoot 15 yards indoors now. Actually probably less when you factor in the depth of my bench, thickness of pellet trap, etc. It will have to do.
