Basement shooters

Hi all...too cold today and probably for a week to shoot out side. So it's down to my 36 foot "range". Here's what I shoot. My old 1377 with a Beeman adjustable peep and a modified front sight. What do you all shoot indoors?

Official basement shooter here. Shared space with the family so I don't get to shoot as much as I would like, but a nice warm 17 yards. I've got a bullet box (kinda loud though) and a box lined with multiple sheets of ballistic fabric at the back and old towels in the front to quiet the impact. I've shot up to 90fpe with .30 slugs indoors and have yet to make more than a dent in the fabric.

When we built our house my wife couldn't understand why I insisted on putting the utilities on the same side of the basement as the staircase. When she saw what I had done, it was: "Really, the sump pump is under the bedroom so you can have a shooting range in the basement?". Well I always dreamed of having a real 10 meter indoor range, so I think it was worth doing, especially since it gets considerable use during the winter months.

I just got my first sort of real pellet rifle so I was trying to figure out what to shoot at in the house. I saw an old cast iron coffee pot and I knew I found my target plus pellet trap. I stuck a old shirt in it so the pellets don't ricochet out of it and the top hole perfectly holds a empty beer can which I seem to never run out of. I looked it up and they go for around forty bucks on ebay but the shipping is about the same due to the weight.

It's great to see other people's indoor shooting setups!
I make sure I have an indoor range whenever possible so that I can shoot 24/7 if need be.
This is my current layout: Exactly 10 meters, and it spans the length of 3 different rooms.
The backstop consists of a frame that holds multiple layers of 3/4" thick rubber 'stall-mat'.
[I've now added a 4th layer of mat, as well as some heavy duty carpeting - Thanks Erlis!]
*Why so overkill on the backstop? I'll just say this: Don't shoot 25 cals in the house!* 🤦‍♂️😀

😊👍

Sam -

I just posted to the outdoor range thread that all I have is a 50' basement range. No outdoor range since we moved to the detached condo.

We finished 800 sq ft in the basement and I designed it so there is space behind one wall so the range could be 50' long.

I usually shoot at 10 meters and only go to 50' when I want to challenge myself a bit more.

I'm not at home so can't post pictures, but I mostly shoot a Daisy 747 pistol, and a Weirauch HW30s rifle. Both .177 pellets.

I use a Do-All .22/.17 bullet trap as a back stop. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Do-All-Traps-22-17-Bullet-Box/17510873
