Is a vent hole on the reciever end of a barrel shroud make the shroud quieter? Some of the barrel stiffening systems I have seen do not have one. Would they be quieter if they did?

I doubt if you would hear any difference. The value of venting the shroud probably depends on how the air is managed at the muzzle. If there is an air stripper at the muzzle, contained within the shroud, the air that is deflected to the rear has to go somewhere. My guess, if the shroud is not vented, then the air turbulence will exit at the muzzle. Whether or not that will affect accuracy is a question.
Also it helping with the "Reflex" action of the Shroud!!

Yes they use the Reflex action on some powder burner mods without vents..
But airguns don't even get close to those pressures...

A hole in the rear of the shroud will be louder than a shroud with no hole, unless there is foam or felt or something to slow the air down as it escapes. I use foam in my Kratos shroud just in front of the vent and it definitely takes the edge off the sound.
