Barrel cleaning

I have the hatsan Vectis and I’m shooting the JSB 18.13g pellets, I did a good cleaning on my barrel today and now they don’t group nearly as good as before cleaning, I was getting less then a 1” group at 50yds and now that’s gone to atleast a 2” group. I’m actually getting better groups with the JSB 15.89g with about a 1” group at 50. What is the reasoning behind this? Cause I would rather shoot the 18.13g pellets they have less deformed pellets in the tin then the 15.89.

I don't know this gun but what did you clean it with...pull through or rod? The breech oring, might have nicked it...did you check it?

I used the patchworm kit made sure to align the patch before pulling it through

Sounds like it just needs to lead in again. I have several guns that don't like to be too clean. A dry patch or two from time to time keeps them in the sweet spot. Too clean and poo, starting over. Shoot 10, 10 shot groups and see if the sizes are getting better. Oddly enough the best way I have found to shorten the releadding process is to shoot a few each of several different types of pellets. I am convinced this airgun stuff is 10% science, 80% magic, 10% luck and 100 % skill!

It can take up to 40 shots to lead in the barrel to get the accuracy back after a good cleaning on some guns. My impact doesn't like to shoot right after it's cleaned haven't counted but I am guessing it's 10-20 shots before it is happy again. Just changed my breech o-ring it was chewed up after 4K shots.

The Patchworm does a fantastic job of cleaning barrels with the caliber inserts. It's what I use on my airguns and I can attest that the other posters are right, It takes several magazines for my barrels to "re-lead" to where they're accurate again.
