Barrel band

I think there are some reasons for having a band and one is a long barrel pcp with a moderator will help stabilize the barrel. I also think some of us hunter aren't so gentle and that could change the POI.

Some of us are not so fortunate as MikeVV. The barrel to receiver attachment on FX guns is not always repeatable. (think loose fit) In addition the entire barrel design on FX rifles is quite flexible. So yes, there is a need for barrel bands. However, that said, there are barrel bands and barrel bands. Most of these are printed plastic and if the plastic used is not fiber reinforced, it stretches, loses tension and moves around, again POI shift. I really like the Black Arts barrel band, they do not move around and stay tight.

That's exactly what I thought . This long barrel /liner /shroud of the Crown is kept in place by 2 tiny grub screws , no stiffness in such assembly , and I think that a barrel band could help to decrease POI shifting . That's just my opinion ; a lot of Crown are very accurate without this device.

The problem with my Crown was never accuracy. You just never knew where the gun would group session to session. I have now used 3 different barrel bands. They all worked well initially, but over time the plastic would stretch and the tension on the bottle would relax and allow the shroud to shift. Not so with the Black Arts band.
